Very few engineering organizations have the expertise necessary to write software that is reliable, maintainable, and documented, but they do it anyway.  Our firm has been in a unique position since the early 1980's of having both licensed practicing structural engineers and successful commercial software systems analysts.  It has always been our goal to develop useful software that is designed by engineers, for use by engineers, but is still firmly rooted in the most modern software development technologies.
